Protecting the Land We Love
West Virginia is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Our mountains, rivers, and forests are not just scenic backdrops — they are the identity of our state and the lifeblood of communities that depend on outdoor recreation, tourism, and clean water. I believe we can grow our economy while protecting the natural treasures that make West Virginia home.
That means holding polluters accountable, cleaning up contaminated sites left behind by decades of industrial activity, and ensuring that every West Virginian has access to clean drinking water. The water crisis affecting too many of our rural communities is a public health emergency, and I will treat it as one.
Leading the Energy Transition Wisely
Our state has powered America for over a century, and we have the skills, the work ethic, and the infrastructure to lead the next energy era as well. I support a responsible transition that invests in renewable energy — solar, wind, and emerging technologies — while ensuring that coal communities are not left behind without a plan.
That means real investment in economic diversification for coal counties, retraining programs for energy workers, and leveraging our natural resources in ways that create long-term prosperity rather than short-term extraction. West Virginia can be an energy leader in every era — if we plan wisely.
Outdoor Recreation as an Economic Engine
Hunting, fishing, hiking, whitewater rafting, and mountain biking bring billions of dollars into West Virginia every year. Protecting our natural environment is not at odds with economic development — it is economic development. I will invest in our state and national parks, expand trail networks, and market West Virginia as the outdoor destination it truly is.
