Investing in Our Children Is Investing in Our Future
My time studying at West Virginia University shaped everything I became. Education is not a privilege — it is the foundation upon which every other opportunity rests. As a state, we must do everything in our power to ensure that every child, regardless of their zip code, has access to an excellent education.
That starts with fully funding our public schools, attracting and retaining great teachers, and modernizing classrooms so our students are prepared to compete in a global economy. It also means expanding vocational and technical training programs that connect young people directly to in-demand careers — trades, technology, healthcare, and more.
Making Higher Education Affordable
Too many West Virginia students are forced to leave the state to pursue college degrees, and too many of those never come back. We need to make higher education more affordable right here at home — through expanded scholarship programs, community college investments, and partnerships between universities and local employers.
Student debt is a crushing burden on our young families. I support policies that make college affordable from the start, so graduates can build their lives in West Virginia rather than fleeing to states where the cost of living feels more manageable.
Education as an Economic Driver
A well-educated workforce doesn't just benefit the individual — it attracts businesses, raises wages, and strengthens entire communities. My education vision and my economic vision are one and the same: invest in our people, and the rest will follow.
